This is mainly due to improper road safety rules and lack of awareness amongst civilians. RWDA is working towards awaking all the stakeholders associated with the cause so that we can reduce the number of deaths to half by 2020 and we want to do this not only by bringing policy level changes but by doing technical innovations as well by using the technical expertise of research centers of leading industries.

RWDA is working towards making Indian Roads Safer. It is a youth led campaign, moving towards the mission of reducing the accidents in Delhi and UP. This is one of the most serious issue leading to various deaths daily and thus to combat this problem, by bringing not only awareness related policy level changes but also Technical changes, this campaign was started in Delhi. It started as a project under Indian Road Safety Campaign (IRSC).

  • Lectures: – RWDA conducts lecture cum discussion session on Road Safety in collaboration with IRSC. This domain covers various dimensions such as
  1. Design aspects
  2. Policies related to road safety
  3. Basic rules to be followed by pedestrians and drivers, etc.

Under this Students also get an opportunity to put forward their points and justify them in front of Road Safety Experts across the country.

  • Competitions: – RWDA conducts various competitions in the form of offline sessions. The basic aim of these competitions is to spread awareness among the youth about the rules and regulation and further enable them to respond in a better manner under various circumstances.
  • Field visits: – Field visits are conducted to nearby areas around the college, where the volunteers are required to analyze various road safety problems and further are required to think of their solutions. This is also prerequisite for the policy Internship where the students are required to find an area where accidents happen situated near the area where they live, find the reason of the same, thinking and analyzing the solution to reduce the accidents and then pursuing the government to implement the same.
  • School Visits: – School visits are conducted with purpose of creating awareness among the youth about the rules and regulation. Under this various awareness programs are being conducted such as a quiz competition, Workshops, Case study discussion etc.
