- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Programme
Learning happens Everywhere,
not just in Classrooms
At RWDA, we’re proud to have successfully implemented the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) scheme, an initiative that transforms informal skills into recognized qualifications. This innovative program acknowledges what many already know. With the support of Domestic Workers Area Skills Council (DWSSC), pathways to professional recognition for hundreds of talented individuals of Wazirpur Industrial Area have been created. We’ve trained approximately 400 residents who previously worked without valid certification of their skills. In the last couple of years, through our collective efforts, 225 participants have received official government certification, validating years of experience and opening doors to new opportunities.
But we didn’t stop at certification. RWDA took the crucial next step by providing job placements for these newly recognized professionals. Today, these individuals aren’t just workers; they’re certified General Housekeepers and Housekeeper Cum Cooks thriving in companies across the region, earning handsome wages that reflect their expertise. This transformation from informal worker to respected professional shows what happens when experience-based skills receive proper recognition. By connecting informal learning with formal certification, we create inclusive pathways to employment and economic independence for long-overlooked communities.
